The flag of Seychelles consists of five oblique bands of blue, yellow, red, white and green (from left to right).

Seychelles Flag Meaning:
Red, white and green are the colors of the Seychelles People's United Party; while blue and yellow represent the country's Democratic Party. On their own, the blue represents the sea and sky, yellow represents the sun, red symbolizes the unity of the nation's people, white stands for justice and harmony and green symbolizes the land. The expanding width of the flag's stripes symbolizes the Seychelles growth and vitality.

Seychelles Flag History:
The Seychelles flag was adopted on June 18, 1996. The islands gained independence from Britain on June 29, 1976. This is the country's third flag since gaining independence. Seychelles' first independent government was overthrown in a political coup in 1977 and a new national flag was adopted, which was replaced by the current design.
